It appears in the attempt to find replacement for deities, some tend to deify scientists?
I posted a similar question on the science fiction section of a writer's forum and was "warned". That seemed to validate any such suggestion from that admin.. It also was a surprise that such a forum would stifle any material, but there you go.
Many humans also seem to deify geniuses as if they should know the meaning of life and so forth and so on.
Yet if you research throughout history, genius seems to incorporate some degree of social absence. Such as the lack of knowledge toward their own arrogance? The inability to maintain behavorial norms. Some certainly don't fit this as this isn't meant to insuate a general observation. But to a rather large percentage it appears as though those of high academic performance seem to lack in social graces, as intelligence cannot or should not be corralled in the arena of academics alone?
Btw, I just got back the DFW writer's conference and it was a blast! I met so many amazing people! Genius comes in many forms.
